EMILIO RAMOS

Emilio Ramos (he/they) is an NYC-based theatre director & creative collaborator originally from Melbourne, Australia.

He directed the Off-Broadway revival of See What I Wanna See, which received three Drama Desk Award nominations including Outstanding Revival of a Musical. In 2026, their in-development projects have been featured in new works festivals in London and New York, with upcoming engagements at Edinburgh Fringe Festival (Legendary) and Lincoln Center’s American Songbook Series (Most Wanted). He is also the co-creator of Carey: The Emancipation of Mimi, a parody musical that fuses the literary worlds of Stephen King and Mariah Carey.

Currently, they serve as Associate Director for the Broadway production of Maybe Happy Ending, winner of six Tony Awards including Best Musical. Other New York AD credits include the Tony-winning Broadway revival and subsequent U.S. tour of Parade, Hadestown on Broadway, Vanya (starring Andrew Scott) at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, and the acclaimed City Center Encores! production of The Light in the Piazza.

Emilio is on adjunct faculty at NYU Steinhardt and was recently listed among the Theatrely31 Class of 2025. He is represented by Skyler Gray at The Gersh Agency and is a proud member of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC).

Emilio is mixed-race Filipino and Anglo-Australian. They are gender non-conforming and use he/they pronouns interchangeably.
